Tony Newbury | Chef D`equipe for the British Showjumping team
Tony has had a longstanding career in the sport of show jumping.
As a rider he won many major competitions, competing for Great Britain in many Nations Cup Teams and was also was a member of the 1976 GB Olympic Team and non travelling reserve in 1984 .

Tony has always been interested in helping and promoting the younger generation of riders and after 30 years at the top of his sport as a rider, he decided to concentrate more on coaching moving from his base in Devon to set up Ashbourne International Training Center in Hampshire .

With his many years experience along with his quiet and patient manner he is a popular choice as coach for many Top Young ShowJumping Riders although he is just as happy when coaching someone starting out in the sport as for Tony the most important point is to have a passion for horses, a desire to learn and to make the most of your ability at whatever level you ride.

In 2013, Tony took over the role of Chef d’Equipe for the Young Rider Teams and more recently held this same position for some Senior teams as “second in command “ to Di Lampard
